High mountain glacier station «Tuiyksu glacier» Station is located in Ile Alatau in Kishi Almaty river basin on the moraine of Tuiyksu glacier at the altitude of 3400m in 20km from Almaty city. The station structure consists of 3 houses.
Station belongs to department of glaciology. Starting from the year 1970, year-round monitoring of the components of mass balance of Tuiyksu glacier is carried out at the station. Tuiyksu glacier is in the World network of monitoring of fluctuations of glaciers. Nowadays it is the only glacier in Central Asia with the year-round monitoring works remained after USSR collapsed.
