In the period from 17 to 23 February, 2022, V. Blagoveschensky and T. Gulayeva, scientists of the natural hazards laboratory, researched the avalanches occurred in the valley of the Kishi Almaty River after the snowfall on February 15. During the research they tested the stability of snow pack, avalanche zoning and sizing. On results of the research an Avalanche Bulletin was issued and hazard of avalanches was warned. The significant hazard of avalanches was proved by an accident with a skier in the Akbulak ski resort. The skier fell into a triggered avalanche but thanks to the protective equipment available and smart actions done by his employees he was rescued.
