On October 4, 2018 according to the program of visiting scientific organizations in Almaty the Acting vice Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aymagambetov Askhat Kanatovich has visited the Institute of Geography.
During the visit of the Institute of Geography Aymagambetov A.K. got acquainted with the scientific activities of some laboratories. He showed particular interest in researches related to water resources, geo-information digital technologies, remote sensing, and development of dangerous hydrological processes. He got acquainted with material and instrumentation base, car park, as well as the working conditions of employees, was interested in the presence of young specialists and PhD doctors.
At the meeting of Vice-Minister with leading scientists of the Institute, Academician of National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan A. Medeu (Director of the Institute of Geography) gave a report on the main results of scientific and scientific-organizational work. Exhaustive explanations were given on all questions of vice Minister.
In his speech Askhat Kanatovich noted that the Institute of Geography is really one of the leading institutions of the MES RK, the results of the Institute’s research are in demand and the water safety issues being developed for the republic are in a high importance. MES RK will certainly support this direction, as well as researches in the field of GIS technologies, especially since the Institute of Geography already has significant results in this area.
In general, Aimagambetov A.K. highly appreciated the work of scientists and expressed great gratitude to the staff of the Institute for the ongoing scientific researches in the field of water resources, hazardous natural processes, natural resource potential, tourism and GIS technologies.
